Between Two Suns began with an image that would not leave: a woman, a map of Switzerland, an equation that no longer added up and a mountain calling to her.

Nachtegaalstraat—the street where Elsa lives—is personally familiar to Egbert. He once delivered mail there by electric scooter, passing the same façades, pavements and front doors that later gave the story its physical address.

That meeting of the ordinary and the impossible became the trilogy’s signature: cosmic questions experienced through a recognisably human body, family and place.

Who are we? Where do we come from? What is our place in the universe?

Egbert has written across creativity, artificial intelligence, personal development, spirituality and fiction. Connecting that work is an interest in emerging technology, music and the continuing search for knowledge, insight and wonder.

The trilogy can be read as adult science fiction, an inner journey, an allegory or an invitation to see reality differently. It asks for no single interpretation—only that the reader stay curious a little longer.
